Conciliator (video demo)

Conciliator is a digitally printed image obscured by a black to clear thermochromic leuco dye. When the temperature of the ink exceeds 88 degrees Fahrenheit the black overprint becomes transparent and reveals the image underneath. The image was set into a frame with incandescent lights wired to a motion sensor. Whenever someone approaches the piece it trips the motion sensor and activates the lights to generate heat and cause the image to reveal itself.
